Lars Meyer

Born and raised in Trier, Germany, I completed my Abitur before moving to Switzerland to pursue studies in mechanical engineering at ETH Zürich in 2021. During my bachelor’s program, I joined CELLSIUS as a focus student, where I served as Head of the Hydrogen Module. In this role, I was responsible for designing and building the hydrogen fuel cell system for the H2-Sling aircraft project.

Following my focus year, I continued to contribute to CELLSIUS voluntarily as the Team Lead for the full H2-Sling development. On October 17, 2025, our team celebrated the rollout of the H2-Sling, marking the world’s first student-built hydrogen-powered aircraft. The project’s maiden flight is scheduled for Q2 2026.

In September 2026, I returned to ETH Zürich to begin my master’s studies in Energy Science and Technology, further deepening my expertise at the intersection of sustainable aviation and advanced energy systems.
