Antoni Gandia
Antoni Gandia is a Catalan fungal biotechnologist and research scientist specializing in creating sustainable materials and biohybrid systems from fungi. He holds an MSc in Cellular and Molecular Biology of Plants from the Polytechnic University of Valencia and has collaborated with institutions like IBMCP in Valencia and ETH Zürich. His groundbreaking work includes developing leather-like materials from fungal biomass and pioneering fungal electronics. Recently, his research has expanded into biohybrid robotics. Gandia is a key expert at K-Lab Zürich, a non-profit mycological community lab founded in 2024, where he contributes to research on mycelium for materials, food, and neurogenesis.
